About Orthodontic Treatments

When you visit a MINT Orthodontics location, you'll find that we offer orthodontic treatments to give all of our patients their best smile. Starting with your first trip to our practice, you'll get compassionate care and advanced orthodontic options to improve your smile. Our team of dental professionals understand that every patient has their own reasons for getting orthodontic treatment. We also know that every person has their own needs. That's why we are pleased to offer traditional braces, plus the Invisalign® system of clear aligners. Our focus is to create a personalized approach to give you the ideal result that fits your needs and budget. Once we have completed your consultation, our orthodontic team will explain your best treatment options, develop a long-term plan, and start working together to get you the healthy, straight smile you deserve.

When To Seek Treatment?

MINT Orthodontics's team of professionals recommend that you have your child evaluated for orthodontic treatment close to seven years old. Occasionally, our team may suggest the evaluation be performed earlier. A thorough examination will be performed so we can see how the gums, jaw, and teeth are forming so we can customize an orthodontic treatment plan. Scientific research has proved that dental development is critical from age 7 – 11 years old. A consultation with an orthodontist early on gives you the opportunity to plan for developing needs and know what could be an issue before it's time to get an orthodontic treatment. Even though some patients will not require an orthodontic treatment before they are 13 years old, intervening early may help to avoid problems like overcrowding. Your dental team may need to extract one or more teeth to allow space for ideal alignment. Having orthodontics early also helps improve a misaligned bite and finishes their orthodontic treatment allows patients to get the treatment out of the way early.

Why Are Orthodontics Needed?

For our patients, there are many reasons why orthodontics are needed and/or desired. A few of the most common reasons people need or want an orthodontic treatment are overcrowded or overlapping teeth, large spaces between teeth, an underbite or overbite, buck teeth (upper dental protrusion), as well as a cross bite. Invisalign® clear aligners or braces can create a straighter smile. At your consultation, our team will diagnose your specific problem and explain which orthodontic treatments will get your teeth in alignment.
